What is Holistic Nutrition Coaching? The HOLISTIC aspect of nutrition coaching takes into account lifestyle choices beyond diet. Recognizing that often, food choices and eating patterns are motivated by stress, anxiety, joy, a need to “reward” yourself - or other emotional needs. Sometimes we just eat mindlessly while we're preoccupied with something else like TV or work. As far as appropriate, these factors will be incorporated into your personalized recommendations. The food choices and patterns of eating that you chose will bring you more, or less, into nutritional balance. Being mindful of your food choices and how you feel after you eat different foods is an essential key to balance. Holistic nutritional coaching focuses on developing an individual customized plan for balanced eating while recognizing that food choices are motivated by a spectrum of complex decisions, issues, desires, needs, and goals.
Holistic Nutrition Coaching is based on the belief that optimal health and well being in all areas of life depend on achieving and maintaining a state of balance in diet and lifestyle. Nutrition coaching can help you learn how to make wise decisions regarding food choices which in turn will help you to create more balance in your life.
My Approach
As your nutrition coach, I will provide you with practical advice that will support better food choices, meal planning, clean eating, while providing strategies that help you to avoid the traps of mindless or emotional eating. I will also help you with meal planning and a variety of strategies for grocery shopping, cooking, eating away from home, as well as motivational strategies and techniques. During the initial consultation, we will collaborate to develop a program that is tuned to your specific unique needs and goals.
